I see no reason why it wouldn't, although licensing for OEM versions is likely not appropriate for a mac if you want to follow the letter of the law.

Glad to see you got it. Frankly, I'm a bit surprised that this is all still necessary two years after I wrote it...but then again, after hacking my way into Lion on an upgraded Mac Mini, I remembered the reason that I'm not a Mac Fanboy: Apple likes to tell you what you can and can't do with your hardware, and won't be bothered if you want to tinker.

Please avoid the above two comments/notes, problem resolved. In step 3 part 4 above the disc icon in imgburn verison 2.5.5 is a floppy disc icon. Which i hated pressing but which was needed. This part extracts the book img and creates the .ima file which then step 5 part 10 sees correctly and now my imac is on its way to installing win7 64 bit.
:-) thanks

HI, Unsure considering the many happy previous comments above why I am going astray. I am starting with that I thought was a bootable iso for W7 64bit, but unhappying my imac does not like it. The file originated as an iso on my hard disk, so steps 3:4 and step 5:10 are making less sense to me, particularly in step 5:10 there is not .ima file to select ?
