Yep! Just like in sports, a good offense is the best defense. many times we focus more on our sin than worshiping God

Kyle--those are some good thoughts! I especially like the second idea: Sometimes my greatest victories over sin come when I think of how my obedience is an act of worship that pleases God, rather than focusing on how "bad" the sin is.

Wow! Great post. I am totally with you. I heard a story similar to this. A pastor (I think Dr. Michael Easley) keeps in his Bible two lists. The first is all the blessings and good things God has given or will give him. The second is a list of all the consequences of what a major sin would be. He reviews these often to help keep perspective. I think it would be a good idea for us all.

A second idea I have recently been studying is this. Most all sins are linked to desires. No one can overpower a desire with will power or the like. A desire can only be overcome by a stronger desire. We must desire God and His will and communion more than anything.
